Why chlorine-free?

Clear As Ice sanitises without chlorine or bromine, so there is no chlorine smell. Because the system is not compatible with chlorine, Chlorine Remover goes in every time you fill or top up with tap water.

Quick answers

Can I use Clear As Ice with chlorine?

No. Clear As Ice uses a non-chlorine sanitiser and is not compatible with chlorine. Add Chlorine Remover at 12.5 ml per 1000 litres whenever you fill or top up with tap water.

How often do I test the water?

At least weekly, more often with heavier use. Adjust total alkalinity first, then pH, then calcium hardness, waiting 30 minutes with filtration running between each product.

What should the readings be?

pH 7.2 to 7.6 and sanitiser 15 ppm. Total alkalinity is given as 80 to 120 ppm in the Clear As Ice care guide.

Why is my ice bath foaming?

Foam usually means body fats and oils have built up. De-Foamer knocks it down (start with half a capful), but the real fix is to run Pipe Cleaner, drain and refill.

Do I need Minerals?

No, it is optional. Minerals adds magnesium, potassium and ocean trace elements to change the feel of the water. The dose is 50 ml per 1000 litres weekly.

Can Sanitiser go by express post?

Sanitiser is classed as a dangerous good for air transport, so orders containing it always travel by road express or standard road services. Everything else can fly.
